In my latest project, “Human as Tree,” I explore the fascinating connection between humanity and nature, inspired by trees that, when observed closely, seem to take on an upside-down human form. The texture of color pays homage to the plane trees I’ve observed and photographed during my travels, featuring vivid hues that celebrate the beauty found in every detail.
This evocative imagery represents a profound reflection: trees, with their roots deeply grounded in the earth, appear to ignore the damage humanity is inflicting on the environment. The ceramics, vibrant and adorned with patterns reminiscent of tree bark, tell this visual story. Natural textures intertwine with elements that evoke military camouflage, symbolizing a silent war being waged against nature itself.
Through these works, I aim to stimulate awareness: it is time to look upward, to rise from our roots, and confront the reality of environmental damage.
In “Human as Tree,” each piece becomes an invitation to reflect on our responsibility toward the planet, showing how our actions are interconnected with the health of trees and the environment that surrounds us.
