“Riga Negra” is a piece that serves as a portal, evoking the shape of a mother’s pregnant womb. This painting represents the temporary line that appears on a mother’s skin, a symbol of life and transformation that vanishes after childbirth. Its unique form invites reflection on the beauty of waiting and the deep connection between a mother and her unborn child.
This piece is part of the “VALCO” series of paintings.
The symbolic form of the circle, where origin and destination merge, is the starting point for understanding the works by Laura Rambelli on display here. These pieces are born from dreams and personal reflection, and they, in turn, become a reason for further introspection within the artist’s meditative journey. In the monumental canvases, colors blend into one another in shapes with undefined outlines. Traditional symbolic meanings intertwine with personal interpretations: the number seven, a recurring symbol in various cultures, emerges as a central element. A repeated form, similar to a chanted prayer, materializes on the canvas. The artist herself reveals that “the central oval shapes represent the shamanic mirror which, in the transcendent dream world, outlines the spatiotemporal tunnels through which the archetypal consciousness flows eternally, like a river of terrifying energy.”
